Why we traveled to Lourdes, France — and why that water is in every piece we make.

A Small Town. An Extraordinary Story.
In 1858, a fourteen-year-old girl named Bernadette Soubirous was gathering firewood near the Massabielle rock in the small town of Lourdes, in southern France, when she reported seeing a vision of a beautiful woman in the grotto. The apparitions continued — eighteen in total — and drew the attention of the entire town, then the entire country.
During one of those visions, Bernadette was directed to dig at a muddy spot on the ground. She did — and a spring began to flow. That spring has not stopped since. Today it produces thousands of gallons of water daily, and millions of pilgrims from every corner of the world travel to Lourdes to drink from it, bathe in it, and bring it home.
Countless accounts of healing and answered prayers have been recorded there over the decades. The Catholic Church has formally recognized dozens of miraculous cures. But for most who make the journey, the miracle isn't dramatic. It's quieter than that. It's the feeling of being held — of leaving something heavy behind at the grotto and walking away lighter.
